Asha Shahinian is a graduate of the Columbia University Film MFA program whose short films have screened on PBS, at the LGBT Expo, Lincoln Center and the Anthology Film Archives.

Their short film “Foreign Sounds” won the Grand Prize for Best Student Film at the Oscar-Qualifying Flickers: Rhode Island International Film Festival and their film “Head Above Water” won the Best Short Film Award from the Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival and has been distributed and is currently on Omeleto. Their most recent film “Good Night” was screened at Queer Screen-Mardis Gras, Honolulu Rainbow, FilmOut San Diego, and aGLIFF/Prism film festivals, and was distributed by Dekkoo, and is streaming on Amazon Prime. Their first short “Justine” is currently streaming on Here TV.

Their screenplays have placed in TV Script Pipeline, Scriptapalooza, Shore Scripts, Finish Line, Creative World Awards competitions and at the Oaxaca Film Festival. They are currently developing a new TV pilot and feature-length screenplay.
